One to One, 5x5's, Small Groups and Assisted PlacesOne to One and small group classes are available for everyone! They can taken as a one-off introduction to the technique or as a series. Although it is not mandatory, we would encourage all new students to do a One to One session before joining a 5x5 course and progressing into larger groups as it greatly helps make sense of what you will be trying to achieve. We very strongly recommend a One to One for anyone referred to Pilates by an orthopedic consultant or a physiotherapist. During this session we can work to understand your needs, modifying any exercise before you join the group. One to One sessions cost £40 for the hour. 5x5's are designed to provide an ideal beginners introduction to Pilates techniques. 5 clients form a small group and spend 5 weeks learning the principles of Pilates. You will be guided thoroughly through the different elements of Pilates, including Reformers, laying the foundations for you to continue into our range of mainstream classes. 5x5 series classes costs £15 per week, which is £75 for the course. Assisted places allow you to join in with a standard group class while having a dedicated teacher assistant with you throughout the session. This can be booked for several weeks until your confidence in the technique builds up. Assisted places cost £18 per hour long session. |

Sport Specific ConditioningThe Posture Fitness Studio is becoming increasingly involved with people who play serious sport. We have added sessions to the Pilates program that will enhance an athletes level of stability and strength therefore decreasing the risk of injury as a result of muscular imbalance. |

MassageSwedish MassageIntroduced by Swedish gymnast, Per Henrik Ling at the beginning of the 19th Century, Swedish Massage incorporates Ancient Chinese techniques and passive gymnastic movements and includes the manipulation of the soft tissues of the body for therapeutic purposes. The moves include rhythmic stroking (effleurage), kneading (petrissage) and tapping (taptoment). A single massage is both enjoyable and highly relaxing. Regular massage, however, can bring many benefits including:
Sports MassageSports massage helps in maintaining healthy muscle and connective tissue and improving range of motion. Massage can facilitate soft tissue healing by identifying areas of dysfunction that could cause further injury. Other benefits include: improved circulation, lymphatic drainage and digestion; reduced muscle tension and stress; enhanced mental calmness, alertness and concentration resulting in a sense of well being. Sports massage is ideal for those in rehabilitation following injury operation, or for people under stress. |
